Aquatic center • La Reunion

The project we designed is a landscape architecture, extending the urban park « coeur vert familial » of Saint-Denis, in Reunion Island. The aquatic center is an aquatic park which seems to connect the sea and the mountain, a typical duality of the Island.

The natural curves of the land were respected, the building is wrapping the pools in a natural crater, away from the wind and the bad weather. The roof of the equipment is a walk surrounding the aquatic center, connecting the parvis of the building to the top of the site, which is a panoramic view point onto the sea.

Our project was laureate because of its strong architectural gesture, creating a symbolic equipment for the Island’s capital.
